Photosynthesis

Although photosynthesis is performed only in green plants, it has General biological importance. In its simplest form, photosynthesis can be represented by the following reaction:

6CO2 + 6H2O + solar energy → C6H12O6 + 6O12.

as a source of energy for photosynthesis, the plant uses the energy of sunlight. All the other organic substances in all organisms are synthesized with participation of the carbohydrates formed through photosynthesis. Therefore, photosynthesis is inherent only in green plants, is the only reaction in which the energy of sunlight on our planet is converted into chemical energy of carbohydrates, and then into energy and all other organic substances. the photosynthesis is the only reaction in nature, due to which the atmosphere is enriched with free oxygen. The oxygen necessary for the respiration of most of the inhabitants of our planet, not excluding the very green plants. Finally, in the process of photosynthesis the Earth’s atmosphere, cleared of excess quantities of carbon dioxide that enters the atmosphere as a result of the breathing of all living creatures, and in various processes of combustion, putrefaction, etc p. Thus, photosynthesis — not only to the primary synthesis of organic substances, but also the process by which the Earth creates the conditions necessary for the existence of all other organisms. Hence it is clear the value of all activities aimed at the preservation and expansion of green wealth of our planet.
